About the team
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) is used by all AWS customers to secure their workloads in the cloud by providing scalable, resilient, and highly available authentication and authorization mechanisms. With the growth of AWS, the types of workloads and the access management frameworks needed to secure them keep evolving. IAM control plane, comprised of many services, workflows and tools collectively hosting a large number of APIs, enables AWS customers to manage users, roles, credentials, policies etc. IAM data plane sits in the runtime path of virtually every single request that comes to AWS, making it one of the most scalable systems on the planet. AWS IAM authorizes billions of requests per second with high availability while maintaining a single digit millisecond latency.
