Key job responsibilities
- Conduct failure mode analysis (FMA) and root cause analysis on phased array PCBAs and systems to determine underlying causes of defects
- Specify, procure, and establish FMA test stations optimized for phased array PCBA troubleshooting on the production floor
- Communicate non-conformances to quality engineering teams and PCBA suppliers, working collaboratively to implement corrective and preventive actions for recurring defects
- Write comprehensive technical specifications for troubleshooting procedures, tailored to Amazon Leo's satellite manufacturing requirements
- Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring engineers and technicians on troubleshooting techniques, failure analysis methodologies, and debug equipment operation
- Lead defect triage sessions and track failure trends across production shifts to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives


About the team
As a FMA and HW Engineer at Amazon Leo, you will be directly responsible for testing and qualifying next generation spacecraft PCBAs and conduct failure mode analysis on complex phased array systems. You will utilize innovative solutions and technology to solve difficult problems on a daily basis, at both a systems and specialized level. You will be a critical lynchpin between the production, development, electrical, RF, supply chain and quality teams. You will provide vital manufacturability input to the design and antenna engineering teams for both new and existing hardware. Finally, you will be responsible for standing up new processes, equipment, and assembly lines to support Amazon Leo's build ramp, making data-driven decisions at each step in the process.
