As a Software Development Engineer II on Amazon IVS’ Video Edge team, you will be responsible for the ingestion from hundreds of thousands of live video creators, as well as the distribution worldwide to millions of viewers. You will design, build and maintain robust, scalable systems that enable our customers to ingest and watch live video. If you're excited by the idea of building backend distributed systems that operate at a worldwide scale, and have an interest in live video, this position is for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with data analysts, product managers, technical leads, and other engineers to design, develop, launch, and operate distributed systems at scale.
- Help define the future of the Amazon IVS video stack, including traffic shaping, infrastructure deployment, and infrastructure automation.
- Build novel video features to improve the interactivity of live video streaming
- Collaborate with our team and partner teams and fostering a shared understanding of how to solve common problems and deliver solutions
- Work backwards from customer problems to drive business impact
- Design, implement, and deploy new live video features including dynamic slates and video advertisements
- Design, implement, and deploy new CDN features such as intelligest traffic shaping, traffic simulation, and custom domain names.
- Design, implement, and deploy new security infrastructure, protecting our resources from malicious threat vectors.
About the team
The IVS Real Time Video team builds and maintains Amazon Interactive Video Service's real-time streaming capabilities, supporting use cases like virtual events, live shopping, telehealth, and collaborative streaming. The team is responsible for core infrastructure, SDKs, and APIs that power real-time video communication, ensuring reliability, performance, and ease of integration for customers worldwide.
