Description

The Reliability Engineer serves as a field-based technical trainer and coach, responsible for developing operational leaders’ capability to conduct high-quality Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) across the Customer Fulfillment network.
This role partners directly with site leadership and Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) teams to build strong problem-solving culture, standardize investigation practices, and improve equipment reliability through structured training, coaching, and program implementation.
This role requires up to 70% of travel to support facilities across the network.

Key job responsibilities
•Deliver hands-on training and coaching to site leaders and maintenance managers on RCA, FMEA, and structured problem-solving methodologies
•Conduct in-field workshops and mentoring sessions to improve investigation quality and corrective action development
•Support sites in identifying Top Offending Assets and systemic reliability issues through data analysis and technical review
•Audit RCA quality, timelines, and corrective actions to ensure consistency with network standards
•Partner with RME, Operations, and central teams to standardize investigation practices and drive best practices
•Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, uptime, and maintenance effectiveness
•Provide technical guidance to sites during major equipment failures and high-impact reliability events

A day in the life
As a Reliability Engineer, much of your time is spent facilitating structured problem-solving workshops with site leaders and technical teams. You lead RCA and FMEA training sessions where managers work through real operational failures, learning how to identify true root causes, evaluate failure risks, and develop corrective actions that prevent recurrence. These workshops are highly interactive, requiring you to guide discussions, challenge assumptions, and ensure teams apply the methodology correctly.
You work closely with sites to plan and coordinate upcoming workshops, aligning focus areas such as recurring equipment failures or critical asset risks. Preparation often includes reviewing site reliability data, selecting relevant case studies, and ensuring the right stakeholders are present to make the sessions productive.

Outside of workshops, you review completed RCAs and FMEAs, providing coaching and feedback to improve investigation quality and ensure corrective actions are actionable and sustainable. You also conduct periodic audits to verify that sites are following standard processes and timelines.
You spend part of your week analyzing reliability trends across the network, identifying Top Offending Assets and systemic failure patterns. You partner with sites to ensure insights from investigations translate into measurable reliability improvements and stronger maintenance practices.
