Description

As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.

This role sits at the heart of building technology that makes checkout-free shopping possible. You’ll take ownership of RFID/RF hardware systems from early concept through production, solving complex challenges around accuracy, reliability, and real-world performance.

What makes this role different is the blend of deep RF engineering and end-to-end impact—you won’t just design components, you’ll shape how entire systems come together and perform in dynamic environments. Your work directly influences how seamlessly the technology works.

You’ll partner closely with hardware, software, and data teams to define system requirements, design architectures, and validate performance. Along the way, you’ll run experiments, troubleshoot issues, and generate the high-quality data needed to improve system intelligence.

If you enjoy hands-on problem solving, working across disciplines, and turning complex systems into simple, reliable experiences, this role gives you the chance to make a visible impact at scale.

Key job responsibilities
* Lead design, integration, and validation of RFID/RF hardware systems across the full product lifecycle (concept to production).
* Define system requirements, architecture, and performance targets in collaboration with cross-functional teams
* Develop and execute test plans and data collection protocols
* Conduct RF performance testing, system troubleshooting, and real-world deployment validation.
* Partner across teams to support data collection, model training, and integrated hardware solutions.
* Produce clear technical documentation for designs, testing, and operations.

A day in the life
You start your day diving into RF system performance—spotting patterns, chasing anomalies, and turning data into insights that keep checkout-free experiences running seamlessly. Alongside cross-functional teams, you help shape system architecture and performance targets for what comes next.

Expect plenty of hands-on time: building test setups, running RF experiments, troubleshooting tricky issues, and validating performance in real-world conditions. You’ll also collaborate with data and ML teams to ensure the signals you generate power smarter, more accurate models.

Throughout it all, you capture key findings and design updates—helping scale robust systems that make “just walk out” feel like magic.
