Business Intelligence Engineer III, SCOT - AIM - EU
Amazon
Operations, Data Science
London, UK
Description
Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon and when that box with the smile arrived, wondered how it got to you so fast? Wondered where it came from and how much it cost Amazon? If so, the Amazon Global Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) organization is for you. SCOT works on the most difficult problems in the industry. To maintain Amazon’s leadership in the industry, SCOT fosters continuous improvement, advocating game-changing ideas that create ever more intelligent and self-learning systems to maximize the efficiency, automation and scale of Amazon's massive supply chain operation.
The EU network S&OP team within SCOT forecasts inventory flows to and from each country - what Amazon receives from its vendors/sellers, and what it ships from its Fulfillment Centers (FCs). We are also responsible for measuring S&OP performance, and driving continuous improvement in the tools and methods used by S&OP teams to plan local networks, optimizing for reliability, speed, cost and sustainability.
We work as part of Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) teams in North America & EU, who own the systems and the inputs we rely on to plan our networks. We also work closely with EU stakeholders in EU STEP, Transportation, Ops Retail and Finance teams.
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer III who can be in charge of new models to drive improvements in S&OP accuracy, automation, and plan optimality – partnering with teams across SCOT.
You will be in charge of creating new automated data pipelines and processes, building the single source of truth for all operations teams relying on S&OP data to make business decisions.
The challenges business intelligence engineers solve for at Amazon are big and affect millions of customers, sellers, and products around the world. Our path is not always simple, so we are selective about who joins us on this journey. There is a certain kind of person who takes on this role at Amazon – someone who is excited by the idea of creating new products, features, and services from scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company whose ship cycles are measured in weeks, not years. How often can you say that your work changes the world? At Amazon, you’ll say it often. Join us and define tomorrow.
