Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) Forecasting and Labs organization builds scalable systems that predict customer demand for every product offering anywhere in the world. These predictions drive automated decisions about what inventory to buy and where to put it, all in an effort to ensure that Amazon's customers can buy the things they want as quickly as possible.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead complex, strategic technical programs spanning multiple teams and involving engineers, scientists and product managers
- Partner with Directors, Senior Managers, and Principal Engineers to define program vision, technical roadmaps, and success metrics
- Drive alignment and consensus across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders with competing priorities
- Navigate ambiguity to define clear program scope, milestones, and execution strategies
- Identify and mitigate risks across complex technical landscapes involving multiple systems and dependencies
- Establish program management best practices, processes, and mechanisms that improve team effectiveness
- Influence technical architecture and design decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and operational excellence
- Drive operational excellence initiatives that improve delivery velocity, quality, and customer experience
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders across multiple organizations
- Mentor Senior TPMs and TPMs, raising the technical and leadership bar
- Make high-judgment trade-off decisions balancing speed, quality, cost, and customer impact
- Establish mechanisms for tracking progress, identifying bottlenecks, and driving accountability
- Lead incident response and recovery efforts for high-severity technical issues
- Drive innovation in program management methodologies and tools
- Present program status, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Own end-to-end delivery of multi-quarter programs with significant business impact
