Description

As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.

Are you passionate about helping creative teams push the boundaries of what’s possible in film, gaming, animation, and visual effects? Do you want to define the future of cloud-based render management for studios worldwide? If so, AWS Deadline Cloud is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager – Technical, External Services (PM-T ES) to drive the product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market for one of the most exciting services in the AWS Media & Entertainment portfolio.

AWS Deadline Cloud is a fully managed service that simplifies render management for teams creating computer-generated 2D/3D graphics and visual effects for films, TV shows, commercials, games, and industrial design. With Deadline Cloud, customers can set up, deploy, and scale rendering projects in minutes — scaling from zero to thousands of compute instances — without the need to manage infrastructure.

As a Sr. PM-T ES, you will own the end-to-end product experience for external customers. You will work backwards from the needs of VFX studios, animation houses, game developers, and industrial design teams to define and deliver capabilities that delight customers and drive adoption. You will partner closely with engineering, design, go-to-market, business development, and AWS field teams to prioritize, ship, and scale new features and integrations.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with the opportunity to shape a rapidly growing service at the intersection of cloud computing, creative technology, and AI/ML.

AWS Deadline Cloud sits within the Applied AI Solutions organization. We are a team of builders passionate about making cloud rendering simple, scalable, and cost-effective for creative professionals around the world. Our customers range from boutique VFX studios to the largest entertainment companies on the planet. We operate with a startup mentality inside AWS — moving fast, iterating with customers, and shipping features that matter.

Key job responsibilities
• Product Vision & Strategy — Define and communicate a compelling product vision and multi-year roadmap for AWS Deadline Cloud, grounded in deep customer understanding and market analysis.
• Customer Obsession — Engage directly with customers (VFX studios, animation teams, game developers, industrial designers) to understand pain points, gather feedback, and validate product direction. Translate insights into actionable requirements.
• Working Backwards — Author PR/FAQs, one-pagers, and narratives that clearly articulate the customer problem, proposed solution, and business impact for new features and initiatives.
• Feature Delivery — Own the product backlog, write detailed product requirements, and partner with engineering to deliver high-quality features on time. Manage trade-offs across scope, timeline, and quality.
• Technical Depth — Develop a strong understanding of cloud rendering, compute orchestration, scheduling, cost management, DCC tool integrations (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Blender, Unreal Engine), and licensing models.
• Go-to-Market — Partner with marketing, business development, and solutions architecture teams to drive adoption, including launch plans, pricing strategy, customer enablement, and competitive positioning.
• AI/ML Integration — Identify opportunities to integrate AI/ML capabilities (e.g., AI-powered troubleshooting, intelligent scheduling, cost optimization) that differentiate the service and accelerate customer value.
• Metrics & Business Outcomes — Define and track success metrics (adoption, revenue, customer satisfaction, operational health). Use data to inform prioritization and measure impact.
