Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Amazon is expanding the Data Center management team in India. This position within Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (ADSIPL) requires broad Data Center knowledge with Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in as many specific fields as possible. The location for this job will be in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to govern, drive, and monitor end-to-end program success of the global Operations programs. As TPM you will own the program's strategic direction, define its governance model, build alignment across senior stakeholders, and create structure and clarity where it is required.
You will work within an Operations org, influence system owners and architecture decisions, and advise Senior Managers and Directors. The role requires independently navigating ambiguity where the business problem, program strategy, and technology solutions may not be defined. You will drive simplification and efficiency in existing engineering and operational architectures to unblock innovation, accelerate delivery and be a force multiplier in the team's effectiveness, and drive trade-offs between short-term operational needs and long-term program strategy. This role directly advises DCEO and InfraOps senior leadership on program health, risk posture, and strategic roadmap.
People and Culture
To succeed in Amazon, you must be self-motivated, process oriented and build mechanisms on delivering results. You will put the customer first in everything you do and build trust and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the business. Our team culture is collaborative; it is designed to empower and enable you to succeed.
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
Stakeholder Governance & Communication — On-time delivery of all executive artifacts (strategic narratives, business review documents, findings presentations) aligned to milestone targets — with structured senior leadership engagement across Infrastructure Operations leadership.
• Automation Programs — On-track delivery of automation targets — measured by metric integration completeness, dashboard publication cadence, and improvement trends.
• Continuous Improvement Velocity — Measurable cycle-time reduction in the assurance program lifecycle, implementation of lessons learned driven through formal engineering approval within each quarter.
Key job responsibilities
Define and run the operations program governance framework — including program charter, success metrics, cadence design, escalation pathways, and the annual review roadmap for the region delivering independently with limited guidance in partnership with Infrastructure Operations leadership.
• Build and govern senior stakeholder alignment — establishing structured engagement with Infrastructure Operations and Data Center Engineering leadership serving as the program voice at Sr. Manager.
• Govern cross-functional coordination — aligning engineering, business operations, continuous improvement, analytics, and partner engineering teams around shared program commitments, negotiating resources, managing the cross-cluster SME reviewer pool, and removing organizational-level blockers.
• Drive engineering bandwidth optimization — assuming full ownership of all program execution activities, freeing the lead engineer to focus on technical strategy, standards development, design oversight, and program innovation.
• Author and present executive communications — writing strategic narratives, business review program updates, root cause analyses, and VP-level findings presentations; trusted to present program decisions independently to leaders up to three tiers above level.
• Govern the program dashboard and metrics — maintaining a single source of truth for program health (closure rates, health score trends, finding age, milestone compliance, reviewer quality scores) and publishing to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
• Drive continuous improvement and program innovation — running post-review pulse surveys, synthesizing lessons learned, identifying systemic patterns, streamlining excess process, and leading automation initiatives (health score reporting, ticket generation, dashboard publication).
• Govern assurance checklist evolution — analyzing finding patterns, stakeholder feedback, and evolving data center operational standards to drive structural checklist updates through the formal engineering review and approval process.
• Build program management capability — maintaining comprehensive governance documentation (playbooks, templates, process guides) in collaboration with platforms, mentoring TPM community practices, and enabling program scale and continuity across the Infrastructure Operations function.
