Job Responsibility
Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) Marketing is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMNS Marketing is responsible for partnering with GMNS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate merchant acceptance and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role will mainly improve B2B supplier payment awareness and communicate Amex value proposition effectively in key industries to expand B2B merchant acquisition and welcome acceptance by taking advantage of our closed loop data and capabilities. The role also requires proactive communication with cross functional teams (ex. ICS, CA&C, GMS B2B Sales and GMS BI teams).
B2B Marketing team in Global Merchant Service is mainly focused on improving Amex B2B Supplier Payment usage by expanding merchant coverage and spend penetration throughout marketing communication. This position will be responsible for developing communication to demonstrate the value of accepting Amex to our merchants and prospects with innovative ideas and execution abilities.
We are looking for a marketer who enjoys flexible working with a balance between innovation drive and steady execution by collaborating with various internal stakeholders and external partners. The ideal candidate will be flexible, self-starter with creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
More specifically the Senior Analyst Marketing will be responsible for:
Strategy Development
- Partner with various stakeholders, identify new business opportunities and develop with integrated marketing strategies to increase incremental billing
- Build association with media agencies for effective Content Marketing in B2B payment.
- Plan and implement data-driven marketing initiatives to increase B2B merchant satisfaction
Implementation and Execution
- Manage creative development in both ‘merchant communication’ and ‘sales enablement’ to ensure optimal delivery and efficiency
- Update Amex Value Proposition appropriately by perceiving B2B market trends
- Create and continuously develop B2B digital contents such as merchant website and paid media
- Ensure any actions for governance approval process, liaising with Legal and Compliance
- Manage budget and timeline for each initiative.
Minimum Qualifications
- A customer-first strategist with ability to drive innovation to unlock growth opportunities
- A self-starter and solution driver that can work independently to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable with analyzing data, and ability to make data-driven recommendations and optimization
- Strong relationship building skills to collaborate with cross-functional partners
- Detail oriented, highly organized and well schedule management
- Intellectually curious personality
- Flexibility to deal with ambiguity and rapid change
- B2B business experience would be an advantage.
- Digital marketing experience would be an advantage
- Native level of Japanese and business level of command in English.
