How will you make an impact in this role?
Coordinating closely with and supporting the Finance Manager - Controllership, this role will be responsible for the financial integrity of the entities in Australia and New Zealand. Core responsibilities will include:
- Take responsibility for analysis including understand business drivers and provide explanation of the monthly US GAAP financial results.
- Preparation of month end reporting, based on legal entity P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Assess the accounting implications of transactions under US GAAP and IFRS.
- Review month end accounting entries to ensure compliance to relevant internal policy and US GAAP accounting rules, ensuring integrity of financial records.
- Provide an oversight of accounting entries passed by other finance and non-finance teams.
- Ensure accurate reporting and escalation of any financial errors and all unusual accounting entries in a timely manner and in accordance with policy & procedure.
- Be responsible for oversight and quality review of quarterly board report and yearly statutory report prepared by the Legal Entity Reporting (LER) team within prescribed timetable.
- Review LER team’s reconciliation of US GAAP ledgers to the local GAAP accounts and ensure well controlled.
- Present monthly and quarterly information and relevant business analysis to stakeholders as required.
- Provide support on the production and audit of the IFRS statutory financial statements.
- Provide financial guidance on regulations and laws for local reporting related queries raised by market customers, business partners and regional finance team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with professional finance experience.
- Strong technical accounting background and experience in accounting, reporting and statutory audit.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to share technical knowledge and communicate to others in simple terms.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to resolve issues and track through to conclusion.
- Understanding of month end close processes and reporting, with ability to identify high risk and unusual items.
- Proven ability to manage own workload, multitasks, operate autonomously and results driven
- Ability to collaborate across geographies in a matrix structure and deliver on customer expectations.
- High proficiency in MS-Office applications (experience of Essbase and Oracle also preferable).
- Fast learner with ability to quickly pick up new processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
