How will you make an impact in this role?
This role is for a Foreign Exchange Trading Analyst within the Product, FX and Global Payments Team.
Global Pay is situated within Global Commercial Services (GCS). Global Pay , a digital payment platform, provides its clients with the ability to make domestic, cross border and foreign currency transfers to their suppliers and beneficiaries.
The position reports into Manager of UK Global Pay Trading and is directly responsible for managing FX risk derived from client flows.
Performance measures and accountability include:
- Manage Global Trading book in local time zone
- Responsible for Trading circa $500mm of FX turnover on an annual basis
- Maintain and develop relationships with trading counterparty banks
- Supporting Global Trading desks during annual leave and sickness UK, & US)
- Drive development and integration of Global Trading Book in Global Pay
- Manage daily tasks in a timely and accurate manner including covering trading positions, funding swaps & Market analysis
- Manage market risk whilst contributing to revenue by meeting FX Trading targets
- Play a pro-active role in identifying FX market trends and movements
- Provide key Market updates to FX focused Global Pay colleagues
- Maintain strict adherence to company controls procedures, KYC and anti-money laundering policies
- Have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking and display problem solving skills when issues arise
- Articulate communication on markets, risk & technical data
- Understanding and articulation of macro fundamentals
- Assist Product and Tech teams in any FX focused projects or initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in statistics, mathematics, finance or economics
Preferred Qualifications:
- A practical application of FX market pricing, products and sales strategies in the cross-border payments industry
- Knowledge across a wide variety of financial markets and an awareness of the main drivers of exchange rate fluctuations
- A proven track record of working in a results driven environment with a will to win attitude and teamwork
- The ability to work in a high pressured fast pace environment.
- Good numeric, literacy and accuracy skills are essential, so too is experience with Excel.
- Strong communication and negotiating skills
- A team player that can build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
There is also an expectation that you will work on a rotating shift pattern as follows
Shift 1 : 05:00 - 13:00
Shift 2: 0900 - 17.00
In addition hours will vary from time to time to ensure the Trading desk is adequately resourced 24/5 to cover for colleagues PTO
You will also be required to cover other time periods if BCP is implemented & you may also be required to work Public Holidays.
