The Enterprise Data Products (EDP) organization is part of the American Express Technology Group. EDP manages the Big Data Ecosystem which helps to centralize data across the company with built-in governance and democratization of access to a broad user community. The team is driving the future of our business by building products and platforms that delivers trusted and quality data for decision science processes, big data applications and analytical users. We are looking for multiple Product Operational Managers across different work streams – Cornerstone, BI and Lumi. This role works closely with Business, Technology, and Infrastructure partners to address Initiatives across the enterprise, as well as adoption of training users onto Lumi.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of software products in alignment with business objectives and create business and technical documentation as required by the development lifecycle.
  • Define product scope and objectives, ensure compliance with standards and best practices, and drive production issue management, analysis, and issue tracking.
  • Ensure product and capability areas are controlled through a defined roadmap aimed at improving time to market, reduced operational risk, and increased business value.
  • Work closely with technology teams to develop, test, and deliver defined capabilities and rapidly iterate new solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers and key stakeholders to deliver Lumi capabilities that improve the overall experience for our big data customers and teams
  • Actively drive communication and sharing sessions with Lumi customers across different business units to drive use case adoption
  • Lead discussions to build use case and data onboarding roadmaps and project plans
  • Partner with customer success team to enhance Lumi training opportunities for customers
  • Effectively implement use cases with cooperative engagement from business partners and technical leaders
  • Conduct meetings that encourage teamwork while driving effective corrective actions and prioritizing necessary process enhancements to improve performance and availability
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and enthusiasm in developing elite Enterprise Data Platform services
  • Champion an external perspective in delivering solutions via a deep understanding of the external landscape; inspire and infuse external perspective across workstreams to modernize the platform

Qualifications:

  • Position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, and 2 years of experience with driving large-scale product development projects through all phases of the systems development lifecycle.
  • Experience must also include a minimum of: 3 years of experience with business systems analysis, including requirements analysis and definition; 3 years of experience with root cause analysis, developing/reviewing of business process flows, and designing, building, and testing application code; 1 year of experience with creating data architecture solutions consistent with enterprise standards
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management with proven track record in carrying out discovery and analysis to support the creation of our Product Vision, Strategy and Framework
  • Experience handling customer interactions and executive reporting
  • Proven track record managing large, complex features or products with multiple partners
  • Ambitious with strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Customer First: Obsess over customer needs - identify opportunities and gaps, work to address those needs
  • Partner and Collaborate: Work closely with engineering, data, analytics and product management teams to deliver results
  • Shows a genuine personal dedication to successfully completing all projects with an ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing situations
  • Confirmed history influencing and getting results for enterprise-level projects

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
