ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril’s Manufacturing team is seeking a Low Observable Coatings Process Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, including static equipment, moving ground equipment, and flight vehicles. This responsibility includes everything in the manufacturing value-chain, including, but not limited to, Design for Manufacturability work, tool design & selection, process creation & optimization, vendor sourcing & interaction, quality planning, and work documentation associated with the hardware that the Manufacturing Engineer owns.

We are seeking a Coatings Process Manufacturing Engineer with a focus on Low Observable (LO) and survivability coatings. While experience in LO or survivability coatings is preferred, it is not required. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in process optimization to enhance manufacturing capabilities in aerospace applications.

The right person for this role can demonstrate past holistic ownership on solving a technical challenge with a creative, physical, solution that they either personally manufacturing or oversaw manufacturing on, in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for coatings, including but not limited to, LO and survivability applications.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure effective integration of coating processes.
  • Utilize metrics and data analysis to identify and address systemic issues within coating processes.
  • Apply first principles thinking to develop innovative solutions that enhance product performance.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and timelines.
  • Facilitate communication between engineering, production, and quality assurance teams.
  • Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing their hardware at scale, such as work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.
  • Work with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype hardware

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science
  • 5+ years of experience in coatings manufacturing, preferably in LO/survivability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver in a resource-constrained environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective work with cross-functional teams.
  • A genuine interest in manufacturing and thirst for learning
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Ability to travel domestically/internationally, up to 25% of the time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with LO and survivability coatings is preferred but not required.
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus.
  • Currently possesses and is able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
US Salary Range
$128,000$185,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
