We are seeking a simulation engineer to create innovative end-to-end modeling and simulation solutions with cross-functional team members for simulation users across hardware engineering teams. These solutions provide early feedback to Apple product design and enable simulation methodologies for current and future designs. You'll be responsible for validation, application support, and scale up of the simulation tools, solutions and workflows. We are the Electromechanical Simulation Team, and our primary objective is to develop and implement workflows and methodologies that ensure simulations are conducted with speed, efficiency, and precision. In addition, the team is dedicated to the creation and maintenance of electrical simulation material models for all PCB materials. Through a comprehensive approach, the team guarantees that the hardware engineering teams have access to the most accurate and reliable simulation tools and data, empowering them to achieve excellence in design and performance. Come join our team!
This position focuses on workflows and automations for electrical and mechanical simulation in order to inform design decisions of new technologies and designs. We are looking for someone who always strives to learn something new, is a self-starter and can work independently with high levels of success, is excited about solving new challenging problems with innovative solutions.
  • Create simulation workflows to enable designers and simulation engineers to run simulations with speed, efficiency and precision.
  • Partner with simulation tool vendors and internal development team to deploy and scale workflows on internal platforms.
  • Apply AI and ML techniques to simulation workflows in order to enable early design explorations
  • Provide methods and tools to easily convert and analyze model data and results.
  • Support internal simulation tools across projects in various application areas such as structural, electrical, thermal and electromagnetic simulations including developing training and documentation
  • Work together with cross functional team members to understand tool or workflow gaps and develop solutions to address them
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering field of study
  • 3+ years of related work or relevant academic experience.
  • Good understanding of simulation workflow CAD > Simulation > Analysis
  • Experience with simulation tools such as Ansys, Abaqus, CST, Comsol etc
  • Basic understanding of AI/ML methodologies for system level engineering simulations
  • Master's degree in Engineering or relevant field of study.
  • Deep understanding of electrical, mechanical and multi-physics simulations.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) methods.
  • Experience of finite element/multi-physics tools in domains such as signal and power integrity, desense, RF, electro-magnetics, structural mechanics etc.
  • Experience in the use of AI/ML techniques to improve and refine models.
  • Familiarity with automation and workflow processes and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
