We seek a Platform Engineer with a strong product and systems mindset to architect, design, and deliver the next-generation platform powering Apple’s global supply chain. In this high-impact, ownership-driven role, you’ll define a scalable, data-driven ecosystem’s technical blueprint, setting the foundation for data flow and decision-making. You’ll assess our current technical landscape, design a modern, future-proof solution ready for emerging technologies like MCP and Agentic AI, and work cross-functionally with product managers, data engineers, software development, and operations teams.
- Propose a modern architecture that scales with business growth and is ready for emerging technologies. - Own the end-to-end design process, leading architectural decisions across frontend, backend, and data layers. - Drive hands-on implementation, from defining APIs and data contracts to building core services and tools. - Design and implement data models that accurately represent complex supply chain entities. - Collaborate with teams to ensure the platform delivers measurable business impact and supports critical workflows. - Build for observability, reliability, and maintainability, ensuring systems scale and evolve with changing demands. - Design systems for resilience and scalability, incorporating principles like horizontal scaling, redundancy, and disaster recovery. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering best practices in system design, code quality, and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in platform, software, or systems engineering, ideally in data-intensive domains like Manufacturing, e-Commerce, High-Tech, or Industrial product supply chains.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable platforms, including architectural planning and end-to-end execution.
  • Strong proficiency in backend (Python, Java, or Go, API design and services), frontend (React, Next.js, equivalent frameworks), and database (relational and non-relational models like Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, Snowflake).
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL design, and API-first integration patterns.
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures with a focus on AWS, familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts (Terraform, CDK, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience assessing existing systems and driving architectural modernization or platform migrations for improved scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to align stakeholders and translate complex technical decisions into actionable plans.
  • A strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and pragmatism to balance ideal architecture with business realities.
  • Utilizes emerging technologies like GenAI, Frontier models, or LLM-enabled services to accelerate and drive continuous improvement of design processes.
