Our team is seeking a senior AI/ML Engineer to revolutionize electrical engineering and system integration design. You will develop and deploy AI models, building platforms and tools that enhance the engineering design processes. You will partner with other AI tool development initiatives inside Apple. You will organize, evangelize, and teach their use within the iPhone System EE organization. Ideal candidates possess a deep understanding of machine learning techniques and electrical engineering principles. Experience with Python, PyTorch, LabVIEW, TensorFlow, and hardware design, validation is essential. - Design, develop, and deploy applications and tools for hardware development process and life cycle, with focus on System Integration and Electrical Engineering - Utilize and integrate machine learning models for use in EDA and hardware development workflows. - Extract, clean, and structure complex design data (e.g. Simulation results, learnings from past programs) for use in ML pipelines. - Build smart assistants to support design creation automation, design analysis and optimization, new product development data analysis, triage and failure analysis and more. - Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand pain points and translate them into intelligent tooling. - Evaluate and integrate AI/ML frameworks into existing design toolchains. - Be liaison to other hardware engineering and company wide AI/ML efforts - Organize available tools and train staff on their use - Streamline Validation: Automate Testing workflow, from specs to templates to measurements and analyzing results
  • BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 7+ years engineering industry experience
  • Familiarity with core ML algorithms (regression, classification, clustering, anomaly detection) and emerging generative AI approaches (LLMs, agents, multimodal models).
  • Electrical engineering fundamentals including analog and digital design
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization
  • MS or PhD Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 12+ years industry experience
  • Proven ability to bring ML models from prototype to production, integrating with large-scale design and validation systems
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals with system integration experience
  • Extensive knowledge with popular LLMs such as Gemini, Claude, and GPT
  • Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
