In this role you will lead discrete projects related to operational strategy, planning, execution and launch for hardware products.
The Operations Engineering Program Manager is responsible for managing business and technical aspects of product readiness ultimately owning the launch. The Operations Engineering Program Manager is responsible for managing business and technical aspects of refurb product readiness along with leading strategic supply chain programs across geographies. This role is complex in that it requires a strong blend of both technical knowledge and eye for business covering a wide variety of deliverables spanning across multiple iOS products.
- Independently develop and manage all aspects of project including: scope, timelines, and deliverables; communication and organizational alignment; risk management, Success definition and measurement; Issue resolution.
- Primary representative for AppleCare to other organizations (Product Design, Product Operations, Logistics, Environmental Supply Chain Initiatives, Retail, Business Development & Legal) to realize opportunities in the areas of refurbishment, trade-in initiatives, business-to-business initiatives, supply chain design, warehouse/OEM operational efficiency and system improvements.
- Work closely with the internal planning and readiness teams to ensure appropriate synchronization of new product launch efforts with business team (Marketing/SDM/Sales)
- Overall responsibility to ensure all aspects of iOS refurb program launches and continuous improvement
- Develop and present compelling business cases and implement solutions that improve quality and cost using data analytics by leveraging data analytics to drive evidence-based decision-making.
- Understand key cost drivers and recommend options between competing strategies based on effective cost/benefit analysis. Use business and supply chain knowledge to analyze competing options.
- Assess, analyze, consolidate, and communicate risk and status clearly and succinctly to management, raising key issues and presenting options for resolution to the cross-functional executive team.
- B.S. degree in related field plus 7 years of related experience, or advanced degree plus 5 years of related experience. Engineering degree and MBA is desirable
- Work experience as a project/program manager in any one or more of the following areas: New Products Introduction, Supply Chain Management, Product Operations or Service Operations Strong analytical skills required (cost benefit, return on investment analysis)
- Strong Excel skills, Skilled in analyzing data, generating insights, and driving data-informed decisions
- Excellent product or project management qualifications
- Proven experience leading supply chain business project
- Design/process mapping capability
- Ability to effectively work with cross functional teams to understand requirements and convert them to executable project plans
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience presenting at all levels
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Additional requirements include the ability to think strategically and execute tactically, a persistent attention to detail, and a high level of comfort working with numbers
- Experience in any one of the following: NPI Operations, Global supply management, Service Operations for hardware product launches
- Demonstrated experience in building business cases
- New Supply Chain design for hardware products across geographies
- Advanced Data Analytics with AI/ML experience
