We are seeking an inspiring technical leader to shape the next generation of storage infrastructure at Apple. You will lead exceptional engineers who are passionate about building globally distributed, high performance systems. You will ensure every layer of our platform reflects Apple’s commitment to reliability, data protection, and quality. You will collaborate across teams to strengthen the foundation that supports Apple’s services and ongoing innovation.   • Build, scale, and inspire a high-performing team of engineers who deliver reliable and innovative storage platforms for Apple’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering Program Management, Site Reliability Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for next-generation storage systems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and leaders across geographies to align technical direction, accelerate execution, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead your team to prioritize, plan, and deliver features from design through production with a strong focus on quality, durability, and operational excellence.
  • Deliver technology that underpins many of Apple’s most visible services and impacts hundreds of millions of users every day.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating highly reliable and scalable distributed services.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams of 10 or more software engineers, with a strong focus on mentorship and career growth.
  • Deep understanding of core computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
  • Solid grasp of distributed systems fundamentals such as fault tolerance, consistency, and distributed rate limiting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Ability to dive deep into technical details when needed, while maintaining a strategic, big-picture perspective.
  • Proven experience hiring exceptional technical talent and fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (10+ years).
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems such as databases or storage platforms.
  • Proven track record building and running reliable platform services that support high-scale, mission-critical workloads with stringent recovery point and recovery time objectives.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of Java, Scala, Go, or Rust.
  • Strong background leading senior engineers or managing other managers in a high-impact environment.
  • More than 10 years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in engineering management.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 and $342,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
