Apple is where individual creativities gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something. Apple’s Security Engineering & Architecture organization is at the forefront of protecting Apple's users from security threats. As a software engineer on the Product Security team, you won't just be writing code—you will build and own the critical tools and platforms that enable Apple to rapidly respond to vulnerabilities impacting our products.
We are looking for a product-minded engineer to take ownership of our internal tooling, including our core case management platform. Your mission will be to eliminate friction and turbocharge our team's productivity by delivering reliable, high-impact features with agility. You will have the autonomy to help shape the roadmap and the responsibility to deliver on it. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle. You will partner directly with your users within Product Security to understand their pain points, prioritize the backlog, and ship solutions. This includes developing new features, methodically paying down technical debt, fixing bugs that block our team, and improving system resilience. You will be empowered to make tactical, high-value enhancements in between larger projects, ensuring we are always delivering value. In addition to development, you will own the operational health of our toolchain. This means leading incident response, performing deep root cause analysis, and implementing permanent fixes. You’ll also coordinate with partner teams across Apple to ensure our business-critical tooling remains robust and reliable.
  • 5+ years of experience building and maintaining robust, scalable software in a production environment.
  • Proven experience building and maintaining web applications using Python backends and frontend frameworks (jQuery and/or React are essential).
  • Experience with production deployment, containerization (e.g., Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous parallel activities, drive projects to completion independently, and coordinate effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate their needs into well-defined technical requirements and user-centric features.
  • Proven experience taking end-to-end ownership of a software product or service, from roadmap planning and prioritization to incident response and long-term maintenance.
  • Experience with prototyping and developing AI-driven features to automate manual processes, improve operational efficiency, and unlock new workflow capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex technical projects to resolution, especially those requiring coordination and follow-up across multiple engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of common web application vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and proven experience implementing secure coding practices to prevent and remediate them.
  • Experience applying secure-by-design principles, such as threat modeling and defensive programming, to ensure applications are robust against attack from the start.
  • A track record of improving system resilience and code quality through comprehensive automated testing (unit, integration, E2E).
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related technical field, or equivalent proven experience.
