The Solutions Engineer is a technical expert who guides and enables internal teams to leverage our experimentation platform for model evaluation, data labeling, benchmarking, A/B testing, and data-driven product development. You will drive the technical discovery, integration, and training process for new teams, providing hands-on support and best practices to ensure a smooth and effective onboarding experience. A successful candidate will combine deep technical knowledge with strong communication skills to empower teams to execute and scale their experimentation programs. You will be able to access when deeper technical investigations are more appropriate or when a more pragmatic solution is needed all the while using your business acumen to guide teams to the most impactful approach.
Your day to day will include sitting with the ML Engineers to understand their needs and help them accelerate their development through proper use of our platform evaluation and experimentation capabilities. As well as identifying new capabilities that need to be added to the platform to increase the value to our internal customers.
  • Technical Onboarding and Integration: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for new internal teams. Lead technical discovery sessions to understand their goals, tech stack, and experimentation needs. Guide teams through platform integration, including SDK Solution
  • Design and Consultation: Design and recommend tailored solutions for how teams can use the experimentation platform to meet their specific business and product objectives. Provide guidance on best practices for experiment design, implementation, and analysis. Bring in the appropriate expert teams when needed to solution for novel approaches.
  • Training and Enablement: Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and documentation for engineers, data scientists, and product managers. This includes creating code examples, technical guides, and tutorials to accelerate the learning curve for new users.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Act as a subject matter expert for technical issues during the onboarding phase. Troubleshoot implementation problems, debug integrations, and escalate complex issues to the core platform engineering teams.
  • Feedback and Collaboration: Act as the voice of internal customers, gathering feedback and working with the product and engineering teams to inform the platform's roadmap and improve the developer experience.
  • Internal Tooling and Automation: Identify opportunities for internal tool development and automation to improve the efficiency of the onboarding process. Develop scripts and utilities to streamline common integration and setup tasks.
  • Proven experience as a Solutions Engineer, Implementation Engineer, or Technical Consultant, preferably with experience supporting an internal platform or developer-facing tool.
  • Experience in a cross-functional role, collaborating with engineering, product, and data teams.
  • Hands-on experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Java, Go) and a strong understanding of web technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting technical challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with a/b testing, reverse tests, holdouts, or other forms of product experimentation is a plus.
  • Experience with model and feature evaluation is a plus
  • Experience with data labeling and annotation platforms is a plus
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
