Apple’s Services and Infrastructure Finance team is seeking a Senior Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping our financial data landscape. You will be instrumental in architecting, maintaining, and continuously enhancing our data analytics and automation capabilities.
This role involves strategically partnering across Services Finance including Apple Media Products (App Store, Music, Card, iCloud, etc.), Apple Ads, Maps, and others to identify and implement innovative system solutions that elevate key finance functions. The position requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, tactical execution, and advanced problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of complex systems and data infrastructure to drive informed insights within Apple's dynamic Services environment.
- Leverage a comprehensive understanding of Apple’s business activities and associated processes to identify opportunities for significant improvements in internal reporting, analytical capabilities, and financial processes. Proactively automate manual processes to deliver more robust, scalable, and efficient reporting.
- Lead the full project lifecycle for Services financial systems and reporting initiatives – from initial concept and business case development through requirements gathering, technical design, implementation, testing, and rollout – by translating complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and collaborating closely with technical partners on project plans and implementation.
- Proactively partner with project teams to understand new business initiatives, assess their potential impact on financial systems, data architecture, and reporting.
- Have a deep understanding of system integration and data flow, capable of tracing the journey of an order through various platforms to understand how data is captured, transformed, and ultimately reported. Experience in troubleshooting data flow issues is highly valued.
- Drive the development and delivery of critical reporting across multiple teams and levels.
- Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements and internal controls. Proactively engage with and support internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation, addressing inquiries, and facilitating successful audit outcomes.
- Partner with and train financial analysts across the organization to best utilize our data and technology infrastructure for building dashboards, generating reports, and conducting in-depth analyses.
- 6+ years of experience in finance, planning, management consulting, data analytics, or related field – demonstrating both analytical depth and project leadership
- Advanced knowledge of SQL
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or other quantitative field
- Extensive experience working with large, complex datasets
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and modeling
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., R, Python) and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau) is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Apple's Global Business Intelligence (GBI) tools
- SAP experience
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex system architectures and data flows
- Ability to self-start and self-direct work in an unstructured and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and build strong cross-functional partnerships
