Help Apple Pay & Wallet deliver amazing new commerce experiences for Apple customers around the world. Apple Pay is a leading digital wallet for iOS customers in over 80 markets and growing rapidly, including e-commerce, transit, loyalty, and other product areas. We are looking for a Strategy Analyst to conduct market research, assess the competitive landscape, and analyze industry trends to provide strategic recommendations for the future product roadmap. As an integral part of our multi-functional teams, you will collaborate closely with product, engineering, data science, and business development teams to evaluate new product constructs, assess potential partnerships, and support the creation of new commercial models. Core responsibilities include building business cases, conducting ROI analysis, market sizing, competitive intelligence, and serving as a strategic point of contact for key product work streams. You will formulate actionable recommendations through quantitative analysis combined with qualitative research and communicate your findings effectively to audiences at all levels, including executive leadership. This role will focus on strategy for Apple Pay’s fast-evolving platform product portfolio. Our team develops unique perspectives on Apple Pay’s core businesses and ecosystem to help craft future product roadmaps. You will directly contribute to the development of new products by building business cases, conducting market sizing, and identifying new opportunities for growth. This is a high-impact role offering an outstanding opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the business, drive and influence decisions impacting its long-term trajectory, and advise leadership across Apple Pay teams globally.
This is a high-impact role with significant cross-functional visibility, requiring frequent interaction with key internal and external partners. You will work directly with product, data science, engineering, business development, and operations teams to shape and influence Apple Pay’s long-term strategy.
- Perform market research and quantitative analysis, including market sizing, competitive intelligence, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Translate complex business questions into structured analytical frameworks, delivering clear, data-backed recommendations to guide leadership on critical investment and product decisions.
- Create and maintain financial models to support key initiatives, including annual and long-range planning, business case development, and ROI analysis.
- Lead and support strategic initiatives end-to-end, from initial opportunity sizing to defining go-to-market strategy and ongoing performance management.
- Partner with Product and Business Development teams to assess the strategic value of new product constructs, commercial models, and potential partnerships.
- Develop frameworks for assessing the competitive landscape and benchmarking Apple Pay’s strategic position against key industry players.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Consulting, Investment Banking, Strategy, Corporate Strategy, Strategic Finance, and/or similar strategy and planning functions in a global, fast-paced organization
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field
- Proven ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems by structuring a hypothesis-driven approach and blending rigorous quantitative analysis with insightful qualitative research.
- Expertise in financial and business case modeling, with the ability to build sophisticated models from the ground up to support strategic planning, investment evaluation, and ROI analysis.
- Adept at navigating ambiguity and structuring complex, open-ended questions into clear, actionable frameworks for analysis and decision-making.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and articulate complex strategic concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including senior executives.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools is a strong plus, particularly experience using SQL for data querying, R or Python for statistical analysis, and Tableau for visualization.
- Understanding of the payments ecosystem, mobile commerce, and fintech landscape is strongly preferred.
