Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something. Join the Edge Services team as a DevOps Engineer to contribute to the automation, operation, and support of global CDN, DNS, load-balancing, and proxy platforms serving millions of users. You'll play a key role in improving reliability and delivery by implementing robust deployment workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and actively reducing operational toil through automation. Bring your passion and dedication to Apple, where great ideas quickly become great products, services, and customer experiences.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and deploying critical infrastructure components and working across Linux systems and network infrastructure to ensure uptime and scale. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, SREs, and network engineers to implement guardrails (testing, security, rollout policy), instrument systems for visibility, and continuously improve release practices. You will also share responsibility for on-call support, responding to incidents in real-time, and contributing to post-incident improvements to strengthen reliability. This role provides an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise in a fast-paced and impactful environment, working on systems critical to Apple's global infrastructure.
  • Experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability, Operations, or similar role
  • Strong Linux administration and production troubleshooting skills
  • Solid networking foundations (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Practical experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation and contribute to alerting improvements and post-incident reviews
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Working knowledge of containerization concepts and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CDN, DNS and proxy technologies
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD platforms (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
  • Strong Git fundamentals for version control
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or virtualized network environments (VPCs, KVM)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; certifications such as RHCSA and CKA are a plus
