Marcom's Creative Technology Group is a research and development studio, prototyping forward-thinking experiences that leverage emerging technologies to advance Apple’s global marketing communications. This nimble, multidisciplinary team of creative technologists, artists, and designers works together to drive innovation in rapidly evolving fields such as spatial and generative computing. We partner with teams across Marcom and Apple to evolve how we work with emerging technologies to improve our internal workflows and customer-facing experiences.
As the Creative Technology Director, you will be responsible for identifying transformative technologies, within Apple and in the industry, that unlock new capabilities and drive high value experimentation that aligns with Marcom’s long-term strategy and positions the organization at the forefront of creative and technical excellence in marketing. As the most senior creative lead of the team, you’ll be responsible for guiding them in exploring new spaces, validating opportunities across AI, Spatial, and emerging technologies, and building strong relationships across the company. You’ll also deliver proof-of-concepts that inspire future products and marketing initiatives for customer-facing experiences and internal operations. By establishing strong processes for experimentation, application, and handoff, you will ensure the team maximizes innovation without becoming mired in long-term product development. This role requires an experienced strategic thinker who can identify business needs, influence executives, collaborate effectively across Marcom and Apple, and champion a culture of curiosity, agility, and continuous invention.
  • Lead and oversee a multidisciplinary team of creative technologists, artists, and designers working across AI, 3D, AR/VR, spatial computing, and emerging technologies.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and continuous learning across the creative technology team.
  • Partner with producer lead to establish frameworks for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing new technologies with the highest strategic potential.
  • Drive the creation of advanced prototypes, experiments, and conceptual explorations that shape future marketing and product opportunities across Marcom.
  • Define and lead the long-term creative technology vision and innovation roadmap for the Creative Technology group in partnership with ILT and Marcom leadership.
  • Influence and align senior leadership, creating consensus around the opportunities and application of new and emerging technologies across Marcom.
  • Ensure teams maintain a focus on rapid exploration and concept development
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Marcom teams and across Apple to transition validated concepts into scalable development tracks.
  • Partner with producer lead to oversee resourcing, operations, and portfolio management for all creative technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors, engineering partners, and technology platforms to accelerate innovation.
  • Develop senior leadership talent, mentoring managers and strengthening the team’s leadership pipeline.
  • At least 15+ years of experience in a creative tech/ R&D environment, with a proven ability for shaping and scaling emerging technology practices across organizations.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams within a creative agency, product organization, or technology-forward environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in strategic planning, organizational design, and senior leadership, with a track record of growing high-performing teams and capabilities.
  • A diverse portfolio showcasing oversight of complex web and native iOS initiatives, including the successful strategic application of generative AI.
  • Proven ability for evaluating, adopting, and operationalizing emerging technologies at scale to meet evolving needs of an organization.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills, with the ability to align stakeholders, build trust, and influence decision-making across all levels.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation efforts, with the ability to define, validate, and guide opportunities towards execution and implementation across an organization.
  • Expertise in developing frameworks and pipelines that enable the successful application of AI, ML, and emerging technologies to creative challenges and real-world business needs.
  • Ability to drive clarity in highly ambiguous environments, making decisive, informed choices that balance innovation, feasibility, and risk.
  • Recognized subject matter authority with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, exploration, and cultivating technical excellence within teams.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership to shape organizational strategies, investment, and guide technology adoption that unlocks new capabilities and business value.
  • Degree in Design, Human–Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $263,100 and $420,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
