Within Acoustics, Our Noise & Vibration team contributes to hardware design, validation, and troubleshooting to minimize distracting audible noises and optimize their sound quality. We are a mixed team of acoustics and vibration experts, accomplished listeners, and creative problem solvers. We work daily with multi-functional teams to find innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. We are looking for an N&V Simulation Engineer to help take Apple products to the next level. Could this be you?
An N&V Simulation Engineer on the N&V team analyzes dynamic and acoustic behaviors to support the development of almost all Apple hardware products. You will work closely with other N&V teams with root-cause identification and experimental/simulation correlation studies. You will apply these learnings and leverage your structural dynamics expertise to optimize designs and develop effective solutions to technical challenges. This role involves close collaboration with multiple cross-functional teams across Apple. A broad knowledge base and strong communication skills are needed.
  • Most of our simulation engineers have advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field. If you’ve followed a different path to expertise in acoustics, vibration, noise control, we still want to hear from you.
  • A lover of learning new tools and software packages when needed
  • A creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
  • Strong background in structural dynamics and system level simulation, with 2+ years of experience in the noise and vibration field
  • Extensive experience with simulation packages, such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, Maxwell…
  • Experience in product noise & vibration root cause identification
  • Experience in Matlab for in-house solver development and data post-processing
  • Knowledge of machine learning and its application to structural simulation is a plus
  • Some experience in non-linear systems, including material and geometry non-linearity
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
