Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. It's the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. Here, you'll do more than join something — you'll add something. At Apple, we work every day to create products that enrich people's lives. We believe artificial intelligence is one of the most profound technologies of our lifetime. The AIML Data Operations team builds software systems that enable high-quality machine learning data collection and annotation at scale. Our work contributes to Apple's most strategic software and hardware initiatives like Apple Intelligence and Vision Pro. We're seeking an experienced Manager of Engineering Program Management (EPM) to lead a team of EPMs who drive global software initiatives shaping how machine learning data is collected, labeled, and used across Apple.
As the Manager of EPM, you will lead a team of 3+ EPMs and oversee software programs that enable global data operations. Your portfolio spans data collection systems, productivity applications, and data pipelines that support AI development across Apple.
- You will partner with engineering leadership, ML researchers, data scientists, and operations teams to define product roadmaps and priorities, ensuring successful delivery of complex, multi-quarter initiatives while providing executive leadership with clear updates on program status, risks, and strategic decisions.
- As a people leader, you will hire, mentor, and develop your team, fostering a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, and collaboration with cross-functional partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree or experience
- 8+ years of technical program management experience in software development organizations
- 3+ years of people management experience, including leading and developing EPMs
- Proven track record of defining and delivering user-centric software products from conception through launch across multiple releases
- Strong background in software delivery and development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile project management methodologies
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to executives and distilling complex topics into clear narratives
- Strong people management and strategic leadership skills including building high-performing teams, aligning stakeholders to a common vision, navigating ambiguity, and inspiring others
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and strategic thinking skills
- Domain expertise in the AI/ML model development lifecycle, especially human-in-the-loop workflows
- Programming and data analysis skills in Python and/or SQL for deriving program insights
- PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification is a plus
