We're looking for a software engineer to work on Siri's on-device runtime across iOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS. You'll build performant client software under tight constraints, work across teams throughout Apple, and help guide technical decisions that reach millions of users.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Siri's on-device runtime platform across Apple's operating systems
- Integrate large language models into client experiences with a focus on performance and efficiency
- Collaborate with modeling teams to ensure successful LLM integration on-device
- Partner with hardware teams to bring new Siri experiences to new product lines
- Work cross-functionally with teams across Apple and communicate progress to leadership
- Build tooling and infrastructure to improve team productivity and developer experience
- Mentor team members and lead projects from conception through delivery
- Strong programming skills in one or more compiled languages (Swift, C++ or Objective-C).
- Python scripting skills for tooling and automation
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to evolving requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with on-device development and performance optimization for resource-constrained environments
- Familiarity with large language models and on-device ML inference
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including coding agents or standards like the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Track record of working cross-functionally and communicating with leadership
- Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities
