Are you looking for a great opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges with real-world impact? We are the Product Systems Quality, AirPods Automation team, who design, deploy, and execute automated testing solutions to drive system quality. Our team designs and delivers scalable automated test systems that validate the performance, durability, and reliability of consumer devices at production scale. By integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components, we develop advanced automation equipment and mechatronic platforms that simulate real-world use conditions and uncover system-level risks early in development. Working cross-functionally with hardware, software, and product engineering teams, we drive data-informed decisions and continuously improve validation strategies to ensure products meet rigorous quality standards before reaching millions of customers worldwide. Come join our team!
As part of a diverse team, you will design, build, and scale robotic automation solutions to test Apple products, ensuring their outstanding quality before they reach customers!
- Design, develop, and execute automated system-level test solutions using Python and structured test frameworks, owning validation efforts within defined technology areas.
- Build and maintain scalable test infrastructure, including simulation environments, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups, CI pipelines, and automated regression suites to improve coverage and repeatability.
- Develop data analysis and validation tools in Python,(e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly) and Tableau to monitor performance trends, identify failure patterns, and communicate system health to stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, and systems teams to define verification strategies, integrate tests into CI/CD workflows, and ensure reliable feature validation.
- Utilize quality tools such as requirements traceability matrices, defect tracking systems, version control (e.g., Git), and test management platforms to support structured verification and release readiness.
- Champion a quality-first mindset by proactively identifying risk areas, strengthening automation coverage, and driving continuous improvement in test processes and system reliability.
- Bachelorʼs in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 3+ years of designing and building system automated tests/fixtures and using robotics and/or mechatronic systems (e.g. microcontrollers, sensors, actuators).
- Proficient in Python and object oriented programming
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex mechatronic, electrical and software systems
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate
- Masterʼs in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience designing and working with electronic circuits, and troubleshooting electronic
- Familiarity with C/C++, CAD/mechanical design is a plus
