Are you an innovative thinker who thrives on pushing the boundaries of technology? Join the Wireless Software group and play a crucial role in advancing wireless connectivity through Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Satellite, GPS, and more. Here, you’ll design and develop next-generation connectivity technologies that enhance the user experience. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll contribute to seamless wireless solutions that elevate the performance of Apple products and services, ensuring users stay effortlessly connected. The Wireless Frameworks and Services team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer to advance the development of automation, frameworks, services, and validation tools for our wireless SW stack across all Apple platforms (Apple Watch, Apple TV, AirPods, iOS, and macOS). We’re evolving toward modern, AI-driven approaches leveraging generative AI models for agentic workflows, and are looking for a senior technical contributor passionate about blending traditional rigorous validation with cutting-edge autonomous AI triage and resolution systems. If you have deep technical expertise, an iterative problem-solving mindset, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for quality and innovation, this is your opportunity to shape the future of wireless testing at Apple!
Our team owns the validation, automation infrastructure, frameworks, services, and testing tools that ensure the reliability of wireless technologies across Apple’s ecosystem. We are shifting toward heavily AI-augmented development and solutions, including building and leveraging modern agentic systems powered by large language models to intelligently triage issues, automate root-cause analysis, prioritize bugs/test failures, and drive faster resolutions. We’re seeking a curious, driven engineer who excels at finding and resolving bugs through both manual expertise and AI-assisted approaches, with a strong passion for developing robust tools, automation, and next-gen agentic triage capabilities that scale quality assurance.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks, infrastructure, and services, including modern agentic triage systems that autonomously assess, prioritize, route, and resolve complex issues using generative AI
- Apply excellent troubleshooting skills to complex wireless issues, combining manual debugging with AI-powered triage and root-cause analysis to accelerate resolution.
- Build and evolve agentic AI solutions for bug triage, failure analysis, and automated remediation in validation pipelines.
- Share technical knowledge and guide peers and junior engineers on best practices in traditional SDE work and emerging AI/agentic development approaches.
- Collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams to resolve high-impact issues, advocating for those that affect product quality, user experience, or program timelines.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years as a Software Development Engineer with proven technical ownership and influence on complex projects.
- 4+ years designing and architecting tools, frameworks, and automation infrastructure.
- Strong expertise in investigating, debugging, and triaging complex issues both manually and through modern agentic AI approaches.
- Solid understanding of automation workflows and CI/CD systems.
- Thrive in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
- Demonstrated experience with UI test development (XCUI/Swift) and software validation at scale.
- Track record of owning and driving complex technical projects to successful delivery.
- Hands-on experience designing/maintaining CI systems and working in rapid release cycles with tight schedules.
- Practical understanding of generative AI and experience applying it to development, testing, triage, or automation workflows.
- Expertise in building or using agentic AI systems for intelligent triage, issue prioritization, root-cause analysis, or autonomous resolution in engineering contexts.
- Deep knowledge of complex system-level debugging, root-cause analysis, and integrating AI to enhance these processes.
