The Beats Human Interface design team is looking for a designer whose ideas will impact the interaction, graphic, sound, and haptic experiences used by millions worldwide. In this role, you will take creative and technical ownership of complete projects, and transform complex challenges into seamless, user-centered designs. As a go-to expert and innovator within the team, you will shape intuitive interaction concepts, collaborate and align cross-functional partners, and create experiences that shape the Beats product landscape.
- Oversee the full design process by establishing requirements, defining features, and developing deliverables rooted in user-centered design and technical feasibility
- Regularly exercise independent discretion to balance competing priorities, applying your technical and creative expertise to take ownership of major design components
- Distill complex design concepts, and effectively present and debate with fellow designers, engineers, and leadership for organizational alignment and guide project direction
- Iterate on intuitive experience concepts with input from many cross-functional stakeholders and user feedback
- Deliver high-quality design solutions under tight deadlines to support evolving business needs
- Document comprehensive design specifications for engineering implementation
- Leverage your technical depth and creative thinking to elevate the group's overall design craft and innovation
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field, or 6+ years of equivalent work experience
- You have a solid portfolio demonstrating your design thinking, hands-on expertise, and problem-solving skills, and you can confidently speak to your work
- You clearly communicate complex concepts and designs through sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity comps, and prototypes
- You are highly proficient in industry-standard tools you need to visualize your ideas and deliver the work (such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote)
- You are comfortable with working independently and cross-functionally in a multi-disciplinary design and technical environment
- You possess exceptional problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and the adaptability to pivot quickly to new inputs or priorities
- You excel in written and verbal communication, and can present and defend your work effectively to large groups and leadership
- Demonstrated ability to design complete sensory experiences that seamlessly blend digital interfaces with physical hardware
- Expertise in handling simultaneous complex projects while maintaining high quality design standards—excels in time management
- Track record of project leadership and creative thinking to influence product features
- High level of curiosity for technology amplified by your design craft
- Proven commitment to designing inclusive and accessible products
- Knowledge of and experience with advanced prototyping in interaction tools and/or code
