Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something. We at the 3D Vision team at Apple Maps are looking for the very best talent to join our team of computer vision and machine learning experts. With us, you will be working on ground breaking technology by researching and developing new methods and algorithms deployed on a global scale. As part of this team you would be working on extremely large data sets of different modalities, collected by various moving platforms, including aerial, satellite, and ground. You need to have a strong curiosity about tackling and solving new real-world problems. You would join a team of fast paced and pragmatic problem solvers that are tackling the toughest problems in the field by developing new innovative technology.
You will be a part of a small team that researches and develops a variety of computer vision technologies, ranging from Visual Localization/Positioning to SLAM to 3D reconstruction. These technologies power user-facing products within Apple Maps and beyond. To achieve this, you will help develop novel methods that combine 3D geometry and machine learning in innovative ways.
- Develop novel methods for various computer vision problems, including image and lidar based slam, structure from motion, bundle adjustment, image-based localization, etc.
- Work with large datasets of different modalities, including aerial, satellite, and ground data.
