APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work cross-functionally to aggregate product and supply chain changes and provide technical direction to SI and CM counterparts to enable successful Apple prototype product production. Mentor and coach SI counterparts on machine design practices to enable successful production. Qualify and perform the Troubleshooting of Machine, Measurement, or Assembly Automation. Develop qualification plans and procedures to ensure complex automation is performing to specification. Troubleshoot product, process, and machine issues to determine the root cause and corrective action required. Creating Machine, Measurement, or Assembly Automation Requirements to Design Product Manufacturing Process. Collaborate with product design partners to understand product level requirements, influence design for manufacturability, and design machine requirements accordingly. Perform Return on Investment (ROI) analysis on enhanced machine features to determine ideal investment. Analyze complex datasets from automation machines and report their findings to initiate the correct cross-functional actions. International travel required 30%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,200 - $236,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. - Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technologies, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
- Utilizing NX to evaluate product design features and their interaction with assembly tools.
- Leveraging JMP for complex data analysis spanning >100k data point. Performing statistical modeling to determine correlation between inputs and outputs.
- Applying mechanical design knowledge and consumer electronic manufacturing experience to emerging product designs. Foresee issues with assembly and recommend product changes to enable ease of assembly.
- Designing machine vision algorithms & hardware scenes enabling precision feature capture in single µm level enabling core product features.
- Leveraging data visualization tools to monitor production line performance globally and identify areas of improvement.
- Utilizing object-oriented programing to coach machine builders into proper code structure on automation machines.
- Leveraging ISO and NFPA standards to design safe automation.
- Utilizing DOE knowledge and data analytic tools to design multi-factorial DOEs, execute, and analyze results to guide design decisions.
