Home PD EPM drives the development, validation, and assembly of mechanical components for new Home products, typically from architecture definition to mass production. This role provides a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with program management skills and leadership level exposure.
Manage the planning and execution of product prototype builds, leading cross-functional teams and external vendors to meet design goals, schedules, and quality requirements. You’ll understand the complexities of product design integration and processes, collaborate with teams to facilitate feedback through the internal design review process. Maintain good communication and provide multiple levels of status to individual contributors and executive management.
- Drive upstream component/module builds to fulfill system engineering build demands.
- Manage design releases and tooling kickoff with PD Engineering and vendors
- Collaborate and facilitate communication across multiple engineering teams, operations, industrial design, and our vendor partners to meet aggressive quality, schedule, and cost goals
- Understand technical issues & complex design trade-offs. Drive to closure by bringing together key stakeholders; facilitating decision-making discussions to meet overall project objectives
- Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution within and between teams, focus on top level objectives and develop best course of action
- Create/maintain complex and detailed project schedules for product enclosure and internal mechanical components. Respond quickly to changes and minimize project impact
- Provide timely issue resolution and critical path management as top priorities shift
- BS degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 3+ years of experience in program management or mechanical engineering design in product development
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills
- Strong technical background in EE or ME. Masters in Engineering is a plus.
- Knowledge of product development processes and manufacturing fundamentals; prior experience with metal stamping, forging, machining (CNC), die casting, plastic injection molding, and MIM highly desirable
- Experience delivering products comprised of multiple materials with high aesthetic quality requirements
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively manage complex design strategies
- Ability to manage complex build matrices and build planning through complex schedules
- Experience interfacing with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering and Design, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Marketing
- Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
- Remains flexible and calm in the face of rapid development cycles, uncertainty, and shifting priorities
- Ability to travel internationally to support builds.
