The Sensing Systems team integrates optical, capacitive, MEMS, and magnetic sensors across a variety of Apple products such as the Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and more. Bring devices to life and enable them to interact with users and the environment in ways never invented before. Join us in crafting solutions the world doesn't know of yet. The Watch Touch team is looking for electrical engineers with analog, board-level design experience and is a hard-working go-getter. Experience with capacitive front-ends, touch sensors, analog circuits, and basic electrostatics is strongly desired.
You will design, develop, and launch next-generation touch sensing technologies. You will analyze data to draw conclusions, enhance product design and manufacturability, and drive failure analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams - including Mechanical Engineers, Process Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Test Engineers, and Software Engineers-to deliver state-of-the-art sensing.
- Design and develop the touch sensing system
- System-level prototyping, integration, characterization and end-to-end validation
- Schematic design of boards and flexible assemblies
- Conduct failure mode analysis, root-cause diagnosis, and system-level problem-solving; execute engineering builds and drive cross-functional communication to enhance product design and manufacturability
- Business travel up to 10% as required
- Electrical engineering background in analog and mixed-signal system-level circuit design, sensor design, modeling, or analog circuit simulations experiences
- Hands-on experience with board-level circuit design and lab equipment (microscopes, detector, light sources etc)
- Scripting experience for data analysis and automation
- Minimum requirement of a bachelors degree
- Touch Sensor and systems integration experience preferred
- Experience in COMSOL, SPICE, or similar simulation and modeling tools
- Experience supporting volume manufacturing, including test design, failure analysis, and statistical
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid collaboration and leadership skills
- Strong teamwork abilities and self-motivation to tackle technical challenges
- MS or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
