Imagine what you can do here. Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their lives best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn't have imagined, and now, can't imagine living without. It's the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do.
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Participated in designing the architecture for next generation of Siri (40%). Performed discussion with cross functional stakeholders to design various aspects of architecture for next generation for Siri that would enable serving requests with low latency and high reliability. Work with Machine Learning teams on the input/output format for Large Language Models used for Siri. Perform experiments with prototype system measuring latency and use them to guide architecture conversations with different teams. Specialized Knowledge Used: Apple's proprietary Siri and Search features and related systems, including Dialog Framework, Siri NLU, and Siri NLG; Apple's proprietary software development engineering methodologies and strategies, including test engineering and ML modeling; Apple's proprietary build & integration systems. Participated in designing and building the debug tooling and evaluation system for next generation of Siri (20%). Worked with cross functional teams on gathering requirements for the tooling. Designed and built tooling that would help both developers and tester to inspect the internal working of the system. Guided other developers with required technical solutions to overcome any issues encountered during building the required tools. Specialized Knowledge Used: Apple's proprietary Siri and Search features and related systems, including Dialog Framework, Siri NLU, and Siri NLG; Apple's proprietary software development engineering methodologies and strategies, including test engineering and ML modeling; Apple's proprietary build & integration systems. Designed and led the implementation of morphological analysis that underpins Siri NLU systems (20%). Performed strategic analysis to identify the areas of improvement targeted specifically for Apple's proprietary Siri and Search features. Evaluated results of the algorithm and model. Measured accuracy and iterating over quality until it reaches production expectations. Integrated the new implementation into specific Apple components. Measured end-to-end run time performance to further improve Apple's proprietary technology. Specialized Knowledge Used: Apple's proprietary Siri and Search features and related systems, including Dialog Framework, Siri NLU, and Siri NLG; Apple's proprietary software development engineering methodologies and strategies, including test engineering and ML modeling; Apple's proprietary build & integration systems. Designed and created Service Provider Interfaces (SPls) for internal library (10%). Assessed the objectives of the SPls. Proposed a design of the SPls, performed strategic analysis on SPI design review feedback, incorporated the feedback, and implemented the SPls. Delivered SPls to the relevant SDKs and wrote detailed documentation on its usage. Specialized Knowledge Used: Apple's proprietary Siri and Search features and related systems, including Dialog Framework, Siri NLU, and Siri NLG; Apple's proprietary software development engineering methodologies and strategies, including test engineering and ML modeling; Apple's proprietary build & integration systems. Participated in software reviews and mentoring peers (10%). Conducted daily software reviews within Apple's proprietary systems and features, including Siri and Search. Provided critical feedback and proposed strategic solutions to peers' development changes. Provided an expert-level support to Apple's cross-functional teams and consumers. Standardized novice solutions. Specialized Knowledge Used: Apple's proprietary Siri and Search features and related systems, including Dialog Framework, Siri NLU, and Siri NLG; Apple's proprietary software development engineering methodologies and strategies, including test engineering and ML modeling; Apple's proprietary build & integration systems. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
