Apple’s Identity Management Services (IdMS) Quality Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated, result-oriented Engineer with a strong background in Software Development and Quality Engineering to join its team of highly skilled software engineers. You will be responsible for overseeing quality of the features that customers use on Apple Account Identity platforms and applications in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Your job is to keep our high-quality bar set high, and to help us identify and execute ways to raise it even higher. The Quality Engineer in this role will play a key role in delivering highly critical Identity Management features to customers on iOS, macOS and Web in addition to supporting the development of test frameworks for automation & test management tools.
Join Apple’s Identity Management Services (IdMS) team as a Software Development Engineer in Test and help shape the next generation of secure, innovative services. We are looking for a passionate and driven engineer with deep experience in quality engineering, test tool development, and large-scale distributed systems. In this role, you will lead end-to-end quality efforts across Web, iOS, macOS, and other platforms. You will design, build, and maintain robust automated test frameworks aimed at maximizing automation coverage and accelerating release cycles. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, you will develop comprehensive test strategies to deliver high-quality, resilient products. As a quality champion, you will proactively identify workflow bottlenecks and drive continuous improvements across the software development lifecycle. - Defining, implementing, and continuously evolving automated test frameworks, monitoring CI performance, test result analysis, as well as test triage and reporting.
- Able to identify gaps in existing test plans and close them with scalability and maintainability in mind.
- Drive all the quality work and also be a strong advocate for quality in the overall software development process.
- Self-motivated and dynamic individual with strong technical and communication skills who can contribute in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work with various cross functional teams to deliver high quality products.
- 3+ years of proven experience in Software Development/Quality Engineering
- Strong passion for quality assurance in software, including developing and maintaining automated test libraries and tools
- Strong programming and software design skills, preferably in Java, Swift and/or Python
- Excellent knowledge of and experience with test methodologies ranging from functional unit tests to non-functional exploratory testing
- Experience in building automated UI and non-UI tests for user facing applications or system frameworks. Experience with testing on iOS, macOS, Web, Android and Windows.
- Creative problem solver with a knack for building scalable solutions in a collaborative and cross-functional space
- Ability to proactively triage, investigate, and debug difficult technical and UX problems independently as well as collaboratively
- BA/BS in Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent experience in related field
- Professional working proficiency or fluency in Mandarin
- Familiarity with Identity Management Services fundamentals.
- Expertise in build tools and CI/CD integrations.
- Proven ability to deliver high quality work in tight schedules.
- Experience with Generative AI technologies (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI-
- assisted developer tools)
- Knowledge of the Apple development ecosystem using Xcode, Xcode Cloud, and XCT est/XCUIT est preferred, but not required
