Description
The School of Applied Professional Studies in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts at Arizona State University invites applications to join our teaching pool for Technical Communication Faculty Associates for the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate(s) will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Technical Communication; prepare class materials; evaluate student work; and hold office hours to assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed an average of .40 FTE per semester. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding and sufficient enrollment.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in technical communication, professional writing, user experience, or a related field from an accredited institution at time of appointment
- Teaching or training experience
- Demonstrated commitment to values expressed by the ASU Charter
- Three years’ professional experience
Desired Qualifications:
- PhD in technical communication, professional writing, user experience, or a related field from one of ASU’s peer institutions or similar.
- Two years’ post-secondary teaching or training experience.
- Experience developing and/or managing curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to teach in digital environments.
- Five years’ professional experience.

- A letter of interest that addresses how you meet the required and desired qualifications and outlines your teaching philosophy.
- Current curriculum vitae.
- Supplemental materials (no more than 10-pages) to include evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., student evaluations, peer observations, and annual evaluations).
- Information for three professional references (name, organization, position title, e-mail, phone number).
The initial application deadline is June 15, 2025 at 5:00p.m. Arizona Time. Applications will continue to be accepted on a rolling basis for a reserve pool.
