The Job/What You'll Do:

The Investment Performance Analyst will have ownership of the performance and reporting output for AssetMark client performance, composite reporting, and benchmark performance. Primary responsibilities are to support and lead initiatives specific to portfolio performance measurement and presentation with focus on providing a high level of accurate, timely, clear, and comprehensive performance reporting for independent financial advisors and their clients in addition to internal/external portfolio strategists and managers.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Phoenix, AZ or Concord, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain performance data/systems for all portfolios, and support related reporting by utilizing proprietary and 3rd party applications

  • Oversee and perform composite construction and maintenance

  • Maintain benchmark data received from 3rd party data sources

  • Perform and oversee periodic performance data audits and issue resolution in accounting system, ensure that all audit narratives, backup information and required sign-offs are up to date for Service Organization Controls

  • Independently manage resolution of all incoming investor performance questions and analysis requests achieving service quality and SLAs

  • Provide support for stakeholders Investments, Marketing, Sales, and Legal/Compliance as it relates to investment performance information; includes client portfolio daily/monthly/quarterly, model account, composite, and benchmark performance across various strategies performance information

  • Ensure timely and accurate performance data is delivered to internal groups and 3rd party databases

  • Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to develop performance reporting capabilities, ensure data quality of reports, and resolve all open external reporting issues

  • Serve as a primary resource to gather documentation and perform research for internal and external auditors, while keeping leadership informed

  • Provide guidance and support of Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) production

  • SME on projects and planning related to investment performance

  • Identify workflow/system improvements and engage resources to enact change

  • Execute operational projects as well as various ad hoc analyses and research as required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of GIPS standards

  • Computer literacy, knowledge of Excel and Word, detailed oriented, advanced analytical skills

  • Ability to work well within a daily, production, team-oriented environment

  • Ability to execute quickly and meet stated deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with clients and staff at all levels.

  • Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) a plus

  • Knowledge of Invest Cloud APL a plus

  • Experience in analyzing and documenting business, user, and data requirements

  • Working knowledge of handling third party performance and/or attribution systems that utilize transaction-level information, including hands-on experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, reporting, and analysis of such systems.

  • Strong forward thinking and strategic thinking skills

Education & Experience:

  • At least 5 years of investment operations experience with a minimum of 3 years in performance measurement experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $65,000-$80,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
