As a Senior Engineering Manager in the Cloud Transition team, you will be the driver for transformational changes in data transition steps for our customers, partners and 2P app developers. Your role will be key in designing, developing, and implementing intelligent systems that underpin our cloud transition initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define the architecture, establish best practices, and mentor junior engineers. Your expertise will be vital in optimizing customer journey to cloud through AI powered features.
Role
You'll work closely with our design and product management as well as architecture teams to influence the direction of the product and plan the steps to get there. You'll be responsible for building effective teams, empowering them to achieve their goals, and putting those goals into broader context. Your greatest responsibility will be looking after the individuals reporting to you – coaching and supporting them in their professional development, unlocking their potential, and challenging them to step outside their comfort zone to grow and excel. As a hands on engineering leader, you will also contribute to the engineering and operational practices and bring in a continuous improvement mindset.
Deliver platform capabilities to power customer-facing solutions/experiences such as migration assistants (JCMA, CCMA), App Migrations, and Routine Admin tasks (sandbox data clone, cloud-to-cloud data transformation, backup-restore) across Commercial Cloud, Atlassian Government Cloud and Isolated Cloud.
Engage in compliance initiatives across platform and product stacks ranging from cloudinfrastructure to product experiences.
Add AI capabilities to our migration products and platform to make the migration process efficient
Team Scope
As a senior engineering manager, you will bring in your rich technical and leadership experience in driving a team of 2-3 scrum teams. The overall span of the team would be 10-15 and would be the front line manager role, to start with. As a senior leader, you will work closely with multiple principal engineers, mentor and coach engineers. You will not only drive impactful business outcomes, but also take part actively in driving the technical architecture. As a seasoned leader, you will bring in world class engineering excellence and operational excellence. You’ll also thrive in a challenging and growing business environment that has ambiguity, multiple global dependency footprint and diverse stakeholders.
Key attributes for candidates
On their first day, we'll expect the candidates to have:
Significant experience with building large-scale web software
Experience in building agentic AI and driving smarter features through LLMs
Experience in leading large development teams directly
Experience in developing platforms and products in a SaaS world, preferably on AWS
Strong technical experience and a passion for getting involved in the details
Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation, quality and operational excellence
Strong organisation and communication skills
Driving clarity from single line requirements and providing direction in an ambiguous environments
A track record of strong execution and delivering results
Managing frontline engineering managers and architects
It's great if you they have:
Experience in defining strategic roadmap for products and platforms
Experience with distributed development teams
Continuous delivery with a strong bias for action
Experience in collaborating with data platform teams in data cleansing will be a big plus
