What’s the Role?
Bloomberg Tax is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Analyst to join the International Tax team. The role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of the non-US tax compliance, planning, and reporting functions for assigned countries. The role will focus on ensuring compliance with local country tax regulations, supporting tax audits, and partnering with internal and external teams to implement efficient tax processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical tax knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
We’ll trust you to:
· Review foreign (non-US) tax return workpapers and tax returns;
· Coordinate with the transfer pricing team on local transfer pricing filing and documentation requirements;
· Support international tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities;
· Review tax payment calculations and requests;
· Review quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations (“FAS 109”) and uncertain tax positions (“FIN 48”) for both US GAAP and statutory financial statements;
· Review local tax accounting and financial statement disclosures related to income taxes;
· Train and supervise multiple staff;
· Research tax technical issues and draft/review internal tax memorandums, presentational materials, or other documentation on specific tax issues;
· Collaborate with team members (internally and externally) and participate in meetings/conference calls on various tax consulting and non-consulting matters;
· Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply accounting and tax concepts to assigned projects.
You’ll Need to Have:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; MBA or MS in Taxation
· 3-5+ years of Corporation or Partnership income tax experience
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel modeling and spreadsheet usage skills
· Demonstrable examples of operating independently, taking initiative on tasks and efficiently managing projects
· A demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.
· Ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization both in writing and speaking
We’d love to see:
· Non-US income tax experience
· Experience working with multiple jurisdictions and coordinating with local tax advisors
· CPA or CPA exam parts passed
· Strong drive for continuous improvement, decision making and critical thinking
· Experience with tax research platforms (e.g., BNA Bloomberg Tax, Checkpoint)
· Familiarity with technology tools like Alteryx, Power BI, Visio, or Workiva
