BloombergNEF (BNEF) is seeking a talented and highly motivated analyst to join our European gas team. You bring demonstrated experience in the European gas and LNG market, with a strong track record of analysing market fundamentals, pricing dynamics and infrastructure developments. You form original, well-reasoned views and communicate them clearly through rigorous, defensible, and structured analysis. You bring strong quantitative and qualitative skills, with a proven ability to critically assess complex topics. You will be based in our London office as part of the European gas team!.

We will trust you to:

• Analyse and forecast supply, demand and price dynamics across European gas and LNG markets over the short, medium and long term
• Research, analyse and interpret the fundamental drivers of European gas and LNG markets, translating them into clear market insights
• Maintain and enhance proprietary in-house market models across both supply and demand fundamentals
• Support and build strong relationships with clients by delivering market briefings, webinars and presenting at industry events.
• Engage closely with clients to help them maximise the value of our analysis and products.
• Collaborate closely with the global gas team and across BNEF’s sector teams on themes shaping gas markets.

You will need to have:

• Three to five years of demonstrable experience in analysing wholesale European natural gas and LNG market fundamentals and pricing dynamics
• Strong Python skills for quantitative analysis and data modeling
• Advanced Excel skills
• Curiosity and the ability to quickly understand, distil and work with complex topics and to communicate insights to both specialist and non-specialist audiences
• Rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
• Substantial experience in articulating insights in writing and verbally (excellent written and spoken English)
• A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Data Science, Mathematics or Statistics, Engineering or other relevant subjects

We would love to see:

• Experience using Power BI for data visualisation and analysis
• Working knowledge of SQL
• A track record of developing and maintaining fundamental models
• Experience analysing power markets
