What's the role?
In this role, you will specifically support our Data Organization, a cornerstone of Bloomberg’s products. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock – from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately.
This role is perfect for a proactive sourcer who loves digging deep, uncovering hard-to-find talent, building meaningful connections, and delivering a world-class candidate experience. You’ll become a trusted partner to our engineering organization by understanding their technical landscape, staying plugged into industry trends, and providing market expertise that influences strategic hiring decisions.
We’ll Trust You To:
Be responsible for sourcing high-impact talent across specialized technical and strategic pillars, including:
Data Management Professionals and Data Relationship Managers, who
- Acquire, validate, and maintain critical financial and alternative datasets that power Bloomberg products
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness for client-facing analytics and workflows
- Partner with external data providers and internal stakeholders to onboard and manage data sources
- Analyze and contextualize data to make it meaningful and usable for clients
- Leverage tools and technology to improve data workflows, automation, and scalability
Talent Identification:
- Identify and engage passive and active candidates through various channels, including LinkedIn/social media, employee referrals, networking events, and other creative sourcing and headhunting methodologies.
- Build and maintain proactive pools of diverse talent for critical, niche, and/or high-volume roles within the Data Organization and beyond.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to understand role requirements, broader business objectives, ideal skill profiles, and long-term workforce planning needs.
- Provide data insights, market intelligence, talent mapping, and competitive analysis to inform hiring strategies.
- Ensure high-touch, focused candidate engagement and experience.
Pipeline Management:
- Nurture relationships with prospective candidates to keep them engaged and informed about current and future opportunities.
- Track and maintain accurate records of candidate interactions in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or CRM.
Process Optimization:
- Recommend and implement innovative sourcing strategies and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the broader recruitment process.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sourcing and recruitment.
You’ll Need To Have:
- 4+ years of experience in sourcing or recruitment (agency or in-house), with hands-on expertise in Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, and advanced search methodologies.
- Proven experience as a talent sourcer or full-cycle recruiter, ideally with a focus on technical data roles (Data Engineering, Product, etc.).
- Experience sourcing across multiple functions and levels, including highly specialized technical roles.
- Strong proficiency with ATS/CRM platforms (ideally Avature), LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean/X-ray search, and other sourcing tools.
- Deep understanding of social platforms, online communities, and talent research strategies.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong, trust-based relationships.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and influence strategy through insights.
- High initiative, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
