The Core Products group powers the Bloomberg Terminal and its supporting applications — including Communities, News, Research, and asset-class workflows.

We build deeply integrated, data-driven products used by financial professionals around the world. Our teams also design and maintain the foundational data and analytics platforms that ensure information is accurate, timely, scalable, and accessible across Bloomberg’s ecosystem.

We are hiring Team Leaders across several Core Products initiatives, including:

Company Financials – Data Workflow

The COFI Data Workflow team transforms thousands of company filings into millions of enriched data points that power the Terminal. In Pune, we will work directly with 100+ APAC analysts and 2,000+ vendor partners to design scalable, region-driven workflows that improve data quality and pipeline automation, shaping the next-generation financial data pipeline in one of our most impactful global ecosystems.

Company Financials – Data Onboarding

The Data Onboarding team enhances the capabilities of Company Financials Data Platform (CFDP), which provides high-throughput, low-latency access to Fundamentals, Estimates, ESG metrics, Analyst Ratings, Valuations, and more. You’ll create shared components that streamline ingestion, improve scalability, and support region-specific needs across APAC.

Analytical Platform - Data & Analytics Gateway

Bloomberg is the most trusted and widely used source of financial data, and Calcrt is the middleware at the center, serving it all, handling hundreds of billions of data points per day (600 Billion+). AP Data & Analytics Gateway provides a robust, managed platform to acquire Calcrt data. Our group offers an integrated, scalable, latency sensitive platform so that application teams no longer have to worry about managing Calcrt resources on their clusters, thereby increasing performance, reliability, and delivering transparent scalability.

The Role

We are seeking Team Leaders (equivalent to Software Engineering Managers) who combine strong technical depth with people leadership experience.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will:

Shape system architecture and long-term technical direction
Lead the design and delivery of scalable, reliable software systems
Grow and mentor high-performing engineers
Drive engineering excellence and operational rigor
Partner closely with Product, Data, and global Engineering stakeholders

You will help evolve systems that power some of Bloomberg’s most visible and impactful products and grow your leadership career within a rapidly expanding global engineering hub.

We’ll trust you to:

Lead and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a strong ownership culture
Provide architectural guidance and drive modernization efforts
Deliver complex, multi-quarter initiatives with measurable business impact
Ensure high standards for code quality, testing, observability, and reliability
Collaborate across teams and regions to align technical strategies
Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform evolution

You’ll need to have:

3+ years of experience in people leadership (direct management or equivalent)
10+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong expertise in one or more object-oriented languages (C++, Python, or Java)
Experience building and maintaining large-scale, service-oriented or distributed systems
Deep understanding of system design, data structures, and performance considerations
Experience driving technical strategy and delivering key initiatives
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

We’d love to see:

Experience with low-latency or high-throughput systems
Exposure to financial markets or financial data platforms
Experience modernizing or re-architecting complex legacy systems
Familiarity with distributed messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
Experience working with React or TypeScript for full-stack teams
