Bloomberg's Enterprise Data department delivers market data products trusted by the world's largest capital markets firms. Within this organization, the Real-Time Technology team powers the distribution of live market data from 300+ exchanges and 5,000+ contributors to the most demanding financial institutions globally. Our technology delivers data with the depth, breadth, reliability, and resilience on which trading desks, risk systems, and enterprise infrastructure depend.
What's in it for you
The capital markets industry is undergoing a fundamental technology shift. Firms are rethinking how they build market data platforms, moving more workloads to the cloud, modernizing legacy infrastructure, adopting API-first architectures, and exploring how AI-enabled and agent-based workflows can change the way financial professionals interact with data.
Bloomberg's Real-Time technology is at the center of this transformation — powering the modernization of trading, analytics, risk, and enterprise data platforms.
This role gives you the opportunity to work on products that operate at global scale, sit in the critical path of client workflows, and solve technical challenges few organizations encounter. Your scope will cut across the real-time market data technology stack, from infrastructure to interface, touching every layer between how data enters our platform and how clients consume it. You will partner with deeply specialized engineers, product managers, client-facing specialists, and some of the most technically sophisticated customers in financial services — developing rare fluency across infrastructure, commercial strategy, and client engagement that compounds over a career.
We are looking for a Technical Product Manager who is excited by the intersection of real-time data, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and developer experience. You will own critical product capabilities that leading financial institutions rely on every trading day — and help define where Bloomberg's Real-Time platform goes as the industry evolves.
We will trust you to
- Own the roadmap for products across Bloomberg's Real-Time Technology — from delivery architecture (on-premise, hosted, cloud-native) to APIs, entitlements, monitoring, and platform controls
- Engage directly with clients — quant developers, market data platform teams, cloud architects, front-office technologists — and translate what you learn into prioritization decisions grounded in market trends, incident patterns, commercial models, and technical constraints
- Define how real-time Bloomberg data is consumed across evolving client architectures — from traditional market data platforms to cloud-native applications, analytics systems, and AI-enabled workflows
- Shape requirements with Engineering and clients for high-performance, resilient, and globally scalable data distribution systems
- Drive cross-functional delivery by partnering across Product, Sales, Engineering, and Support to design, position, ship, and continuously improve real-time solutions
- Operate fluently across commercial, technical, and strategic conversations — translating between engineering detail, product strategy, and executive-level narrative as needed
You will need to have
- 5+ years of experience in technical product management, solutions architecture, or software engineering — with a meaningful portion spent on infrastructure, data platforms, or real-time systems that serve external clients
- Working knowledge of capital markets, market data, trading workflows, buy-side or sell-side technology, exchange connectivity, or financial infrastructure, including awareness of the competitive landscape
- Track record of ramping into complex technical domains you did not build and making effective product decisions before you had complete knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to own and drive a product roadmap end-to-end — from identifying the problem through requirements definition, cross-functional delivery, and iteration based on what you learn in production
- Deep working knowledge of distributed systems including reasoning about throughput, latency, business continuity, resilience tradeoffs, and engage in architecture discussions with senior engineers
- Commercial awareness, including experience with pricing considerations, deployment model tradeoffs, contractual constraints, or how product decisions affect adoption and revenue
- A track record of making complex technical products easier for clients and internal teams to adopt — whether through better onboarding, clearer abstractions, developer tooling, or operational simplification
- Hands-on experience with real-time data distribution, messaging middleware, event-driven architectures, ticker plants, market data platforms, or low-latency systems
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) combined with a clear perspective on how cloud infrastructure, AI-enabled workflows, or agent-based architectures are changing how enterprises consume and act on data — backed by something concrete (shipped product, internal strategy, published thinking, or direct experience)
- Experience designing or managing API-driven and developer-facing products — you understand what makes an SDK, streaming interface, or platform control plane successful from the perspective of the user or application consuming it
