Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock - from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news, and analytics through innovative technology - quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify workflow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products, and processes.
Our Team:
Data AI contributes to the building of Bloomberg’s AI-enhanced products at scale by curating model training data and enhancing how our internal processes use AI. By investing in AI at a strategic level, we expand our practice of engaging with AI to one that is embedded across Data.
We encourage our internal processes to take advantage of new AI technologies and strengthen Data’s role in providing robust domain expertise and influential data artifacts to Bloomberg’s products. This way, our clients will continue to have access to high quality data and new types of datasets.
What's the role?
The role of a Project Manager - News Intelligence in the Data AI team is to deliver consistent, high-quality, and scalable human-in-the-loop annotation and evaluation operations that enable AI-driven data products to perform reliably in real-world use.
The role operationalizes workflows, aligns the right annotator capabilities to the right tasks, monitors quality and capacity signals, and embeds continuous learning into execution so that programs run smoothly, risks are surfaced early, and quality is rapidly calibrated to meet urgent project demands.
We’ll trust you to:
  • Operationalize annotation programs into repeatable workflows aligned to task requirements
  • Align annotator types and capabilities to workflows while supporting onboarding, coaching, and engagement on quality expectations
  • Monitor quality, capacity, cost, and throughput signals to maintain operational health and inform prioritization tradeoffs
  • Detect quality risks, drift, or workflow issues early and escalate when guideline, tooling, or systemic problems persist
  • Support calibration and consensus exercises to promote consistency and reduce interpretation drift
  • Apply standards and requirements defined in collaboration with our data quality and data product owner colleagues
  • Scale the capture of execution insights and consistently feed learnings back into workflows, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts
You’ll need to have:
  • 4+ years of professional work experience in technical project management
  • Japanese proficiency at a business level in order to interface with local stakeholders
  • Experience in annotation operations, vendor management, data operations, quality programs or a related field
  • Understanding of annotation quality metrics and their appropriate applications
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets, interpret statistical results, and translate insights into measurable quality and workflow improvements
  • Experience using and maintaining annotation workflows
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to foster open dialogue and feedback within large teams
  • Experience using visualization tools such as QlikSense, Tableau, or Power BI for performance tracking and reporting
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize, allocate, and redirect annotator resources to meet evolving operational needs
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
We'd love to see:
  • DAMA CDMP or DCAM certifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Familiarity with AI systems, model evaluation techniques, annotation program design, and how annotated data contributes to model performance and product outcomes
  • Experience with using Bloomberg Data, Bloomberg Terminal, and/or enterprise financial data products
