Job Description:

Advancement is looking for a Senior Prospect Management Analyst to join the Research and Prospect Management team. This position plays a pivotal role in prospect data analytics and training for Advancement staff.

The Senior Prospect Management Analyst (Senior Analyst) translates prospect data and analysis into strategies for fundraising partners seeking to secure leadership, major, and principal gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of the University.

This role will participate in planning for long-term and short-term development strategies necessary to meet annual fundraising targets, including the development of data models and the creation of visualizations to demonstrate strategic insights. The Senior Analyst will conduct biannual, collaborative portfolio consultations with individual fundraisers, their managers, and researchers by utilizing the fundraisers’ knowledge and various reporting tools. Additionally, this role will assist with pipeline development and maintenance with an emphasis on predictive analytics.

The Senior Analyst is responsible for Advancement training and system onboarding for all Advancement staff. This role will create, maintain, and implement training materials on an ongoing basis while leading small and large group training sessions to ensure Advancement staff are trained on the latest tools, policies, and procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience,

  • 4 years of advancement research, prospect management, fundraising, sales, and/or market research experience

  • An understanding of high-net-worth populations, financial industry sectors, and philanthropy preferred.

  • Preference given to candidates with an understanding of and competency in the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) Basic and Advanced Skill Sets preferred.

Job Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience working with frontline fundraisers to evaluate moves management.

  • Superior interpersonal skills, with proven ability to successfully collaborate with varied constituencies in a professional and diplomatic manner.

  • Expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google suite of tools, experience with web and email technology, experience using databases, and ability to find, learn, use, and master new technology quickly.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.

  • Strong analytical skills; able to manipulate, analyze, and synthesize data and present findings that are clear and actionable to a variety of Advancement professionals.

  • Ability to work independently and proactively, yet function in a collaborative team environment, exhibiting self-reliance and the ability to form effective working partnerships with colleagues.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities, to solve problems, and to meet challenging, often changing deadlines.

  • High degree of professionalism, ethical sensitivity, confidentiality, and discretion; proven ability to apply good judgment and responsible decision-making.

  • A sense of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning is desired.
