The AI Product Specialist plays a key role in the development and delivery of AI-enabled tools and services to support the adoption of AI by university stakeholders to improve productivity and efficiency. The AI Product Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to support Computing Services’ implementation of AI strategies and roadmaps that align with overall goals and objectives for the university’s AI initiatives.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Participate as a member of the Client Services and AI Teams, which are responsible for defining and communicating the AI service vision, strategy, and roadmap to all stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the division and university to implement high-quality AI services that meet customer needs and identify opportunities for AI-enabled projects, use cases, and initiatives.

  • Serve as an escalated support resource for the AI service catalog, addressing advanced inquiries, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring timely resolution in collaboration with technical and service teams.

  • Create and maintain AI product and service documentation including, but not limited to web content, risk and issue logs, program, and project plans.

  • Lead and develop education and outreach initiatives to support AI adoption and community support including participation in communities of practice and centers of excellence.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify market trends and customer needs.

  • Define and analyze metrics to measure AI services adoption and success.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and partners.

  • 35% - At the direction of the Client Services and AI Teams, participate in efforts in creating, defining, and communicating the AI service vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • 50% - Based on priorities assigned by the AVP, IT Client Services and AI Architect, coordinate idea generation and hands-on participation, as well as offer subject matter expertise in the completion of day-to-day activities, projects, and initiatives in the AI services portfolio.

  • 10% - Collaborate with Computing Services and other campus leaders to design new AI service offerings within and beyond Computing Services.

  • 5% - Works with external organizations or projects that enhance the reputation of the university or support individual professional development.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position shares collaborative accountability for all activities across the division and may be called upon to assist in project-related activities outside of areas of direct responsibility. The position is also expected to leverage standard practices and processes within Computing Services and adhere to division norms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree

Type of Required Experience:

Progressively responsible experience supporting product or service delivery in a complex, educational or technical environment. Experience working on AI-related services including supporting the rollout or integration of AI tools or platforms. Foundational understanding of IT service management methodologies such as ITIL.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • ITIL Foundations

  • Agile/Scrum (CSPO, SAFe POPM)

  • Cloud/AI (AWS ML Specialty, Google Cloud ML, or Responsible AI Institute)
