Senior Learning Engineer
Carnegie Mellon University
Must have a master’s degree in Learning Engineering, Digital Media Design for Learning, Instructional Design, or a directly online education-related field plus three (3) years of experience in a related position in Engineering education.
Must have prior experience with each of the following: (i) consulting with faculty from multiple/diverse disciplines, especially STEM, in the creation of online/TEL instructional experiences; (ii) designing online/TEL instructional experiences for undergraduate, graduate, and working-professional learners; (iii) managing complex online/TEL course design projects; (iii) applying research from learning science and related fields to motivate online/TEL design choices and to assess online/TEL instructional materials; (iv) modern online/TEL tools, including but not limited to, Canvas, the Open Learning Initiative, Gradescope, Piazza, Atomic Assessments, or Jupyter Notebooks; and (v) planning, implementing, and maintaining technology infrastructure that enables authentic online practice.
Must have knowledge of: (i) learning science research; (ii) best practices in pedagogy and andragogy; and (iii) research-based principles of multimedia design.
