About the role
We are currently seeking a “Data Center Electrical Technical Program Manager (TPM)” to oversee the design of Post Facility Ready electrical system upgrades and retrofits. This will include building design teams from internal stakeholders and external partners/providers, facilitating the creation of a shared execution plan, and overseeing design services provided by an external design team in support of construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mission critical design and construction, as well as new product development and insertion.
What You'll Do
  • Proactively identify stakeholders and work with them to strategize, plan, and prioritize objectives and success criteria. Estimate task durations, and ensure schedules and dependencies are aligned and support those objectives within an organization.
  • Effectively monitor and communicate progress and risks. Propose mitigation plans, and align stakeholders on de-risking strategies.
  • Measure and publish program and process metrics to drive consensus in teams’ understanding of issues, and to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Seek out and apply relevant best practices from other processes and technologies.
  • Proactively identify and implement technical and business programs and processes in medium to large work groups, and drive ideas and solutions to address.
  • Organize ambiguous projects into clear longer-term (6+ months) objectives.
  • Foster collaboration with program teams across an organization. Understand and address their needs to support them throughout their life cycles.
  • Guide alignment on timelines, goals, and deliverables of related projects and teams.
  • Manage escalations and unblock obstacles.
  • Break down programs and processes into components that could be executed by partner teams.
  • Independently design and deliver optimized program communication plans including executive and key partner communications.
  • Optimize regular checkpoints and metrics dashboards.
  • Ensure stakeholders are aligned on rationale for program pivots.
  • Independently determine and collect data required to govern programs and effectively drive stakeholder decision-making.
  • Independently maintain project trackers and status reports.
  • Identify and execute on program tasks, including proactively managing dependencies, while incorporating Product Excellence values, Product Inclusion, and brand trust and reputation.
  • Create automated processes to enhance velocity and monitoring.
  • Lead effective program stakeholder meetings.
  • Independently develop change management rollout plans for programs including impact analysis.
  • Across multiple teams, independently define, lead, and own program charter(s) that address scope, and timeline, OKRs, resourcing and risks/dependencies of moderately complex programs.
  • Translate ambiguous program goals into clear and measurable objectives/milestones.
  • Create project plans that break down a project into discrete phases aligned to the needs of stakeholders, include risks/dependencies and support proactive identification of program constraints.
  • Effectively build trusted relationships with senior program stakeholders to proactively enable effective decision making.
  • Across multiple teams, develop technical analysis, tools, and processes that support engineering execution, excellence, and velocity.
  • Perform technical due diligence to evaluate engineering scope, determine milestones, timeframe, and engineering resourcing needs.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in power distribution and backup power systems and the associated documentation for operations.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and related technical areas.
  • Knowledge of industry construction methods and techniques.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to stay focused on multiple projects throughout various development phases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective technical communication, including delivering presentations to large audiences.
  • Possess advanced planning and communication management skills. Able to apply these skills in difficult situations.
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement, execution, organizational change, and stakeholder management. Able to apply these skills in typical situations with minimal guidance.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Preferred: field experience with commissioning and testing.

Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $165,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $190,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
